If you actively want biometric tracking, sleep reports, connected alarms and an algorithm that learns from your sleep data, Eight Sleep offers a broader technology platform. The Pod 6 Cover includes biometric sensors, and Autopilot uses sleep and health metrics to make temperature adjustments through the night.
That is a real advantage for someone who wants a connected sleep system rather than simply a temperature-controlled bed.
Where RECONNECT is deliberately simpler
No sleep tracking
RECONNECT does not score your sleep, monitor your heart rate or create a health dashboard. The system is built around temperature control rather than data collection.
No app or account for normal use
Temperature, mode and timing are controlled on the Control Unit itself. There is nothing to pair before bed.
No subscription
Custom, Turbo and Smart Rhythms are included with the system. There is no recurring software tier required to keep those modes working.
Smart Rhythms without tracking
Smart Rhythms is a preset nine-hour temperature programme. Start it at bedtime and the Control Unit changes the water setting through the night on a fixed schedule. It is shown as Auto Sleep on the Unit. It does not use sensors or react to your sleep stages.

As checked on 13 October 2026, Eight Sleep lists Pod 6 from $1,999 because Solo configurations are available. Its standard two-sleeper Pod 6 configuration is listed at $2,899, and its checkout currently shows Enhanced Autopilot at $299 per year. Pricing and plan terms can change, so always check the latest Eight Sleep terms before buying.
RECONNECT's First 100 launch pricing is $1,499 for Queen and $1,699 for King. Both are dual-zone. Standard pricing is planned at $1,699 for Queen and $1,899 for King.
Temperature control is not the same as surface temperature
RECONNECT cooling water settings run from 54 to 95°F (12 to 35°C), while heating settings run from 77 to 131°F (25 to 55°C). Those are the temperatures of the circulating water, not a promise that the mattress surface will measure the same number. Room temperature, bedding and your mattress all affect what you feel.
Which type of sleeper is RECONNECT for?
RECONNECT makes most sense if you want:
- active cooling and heating at the sleep surface
- two independently adjustable zones on Queen or King
- physical controls instead of a phone-first experience
- an overnight temperature programme without sleep tracking
- no recurring subscription
